5 to 6 day Xi'an, Luoyang, Shaolin, and Kaifeng route
Xi'an -> Luoyang / Longmen -> Shaolin or Kaifeng -> Zhengzhou / Xi'an
A short ancient-China route that keeps Xi'an and Luoyang as the spine, then chooses Shaolin or Kaifeng instead of forcing both.

Day by day, matched to the route family.
The route below keeps the conversion promise clear. Confirm gateway timing, realistic transfers, comfort level, and which optional extension truly belongs before the route is fixed.
Arrive in Xi'an and stay inside or near the city wall if old-city evening access matters, or near the rail station if Luoyang timing is tight. Keep the evening to Muslim Quarter, Bell/Drum Tower, a short City Wall view, or hotel recovery.
Give Xi'an its anchor day: Terracotta Warriors first, then City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum if ticketed, or a food street by energy. Avoid a late transfer unless the group accepts a long day.
Transfer to Luoyang and protect Longmen Grottoes with a real afternoon or sunset window. If arrival is late, move Longmen to the next morning and use Luoyang Old Town or food streets lightly.
Choose the Henan extension: Shaolin/Songshan for Buddhist and martial context, or Luoyang layers such as White Horse Temple, museum, old town, or peony season. Do not treat Shaolin as a quick add-on after a full Longmen day.
Add Kaifeng only if there is time for one coherent old-capital layer: Dragon Pavilion area, Iron Pagoda, Song-dynasty streets, or night-market texture. If timing is tight, use Zhengzhou simply as the transport exit.
Use the day as buffer or departure through Zhengzhou or Xi'an. Repair missed Longmen, Shaolin, or Kaifeng timing if needed, but do not add another distant heritage site just because the morning is open.
